Op Sindoor still ongoing, briefing soon: Air Force after India-Pak ceasefire (X)

Indian Air Force (IAF) has confirmed that Operation Sindoor, a counter-attack against Pakistan-backed terrorists, is ongoing despite a ceasefire declared by New Delhi and Islamabad. The operation was initiated following a terrorist attack at Pahalgam, where 26 civilians were killed.

Background of the Conflict

The India-Pakistan conflict is deep-rooted and dates back a long time, having its roots in the region of Kashmir, which is under dispute. The recent outbreak of violence started on April 22, 2025, with a terrorist attack in Indian-held Jammu and Kashmir, which India blamed on Pakistan-based militants. In reaction, India initiated Operation Sindoor against terrorist installations in Pakistan-held Kashmir.

Operation Sindoor and Military Actions

The IAF has conducted its role in Operation Sindoor with professionalism and precision, as per a tweet on its official account. The operation included pinpoint strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Punjab province. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared the use of BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles in Operation Sindoor, highlighting India's military prowess.

Ceasefire and International Intervention

Though the conflict was ongoing, America said that it had arranged a peace agreement between the two nuclear powers. But the ceasefire lasted for barely a few hours when Pakistan launched intense shelling of the International Border in the Rajouri district and Srinagar. Air defence systems went back to work following that several drones were spotted in the area, with at least four drones being shot down near the Army headquarters by India.

Humanitarian Crisis and Global Concerns

The war has led to major humanitarian issues, with reports of civilian deaths and displacement. The international community has been alarmed by the growing war, calling for restraint on both sides and resorting to diplomacy to resolve their differences peacefully. The United Nations has made declarations calling for restraint and diplomatic means to avoid further escalation.

Economic and Psychological Impact

The war has also disrupted normal life, with economic suffering and fear dominating the region. The psychological impact on civilians, particularly children, is considerable, with reports of worry and trauma. The education sector has also suffered, with millions of children not attending school as a result of the war.
